Hopes high that rail strike is over

Hopes are high that the industrial action leading to this week's chaos on the rail network is over.

The ITGWU have now finished meeting SIPTU at the Congress of Trade Unions.

Following the meeting Congress issued a statement agreeing to allow direct discussions between the ATGWU and SIPTU on inter-union relations, and more importantly on inter-union relations within Irish Rail.
